Joplin: Home Is Where the Heart Is

In lieu of tonight's hospitality column, I pause to reflect on the devastation in the Heartland.

So moving. My prayers are with Bethany Lansaw tonight.

I just saw the Bethany Lansaw piece on the news. It made me so sad... and yet, it was so 'appropriate' that he left exactly the image that people all over this earth would want to expect.

Mr. Lansaw was valiant and loving and... it is just okay that he was no match for the vicious storm they were made to weather.

She, meanwhile, is a beautiful, wonderfully sentimental soul who NOW finally gets to know with certainty that she had what she wanted most in life.

Everyone in her path can know that about her too.

There just aren't words to summarize how saddened I was upon hearing the story.

A truly grand man and a woman who deserved every bit of his valor.

Perfectly put!

". . . who now finally gets to know with certainty that she had what she wanted most in life."

The events in Joplin should remind us that life is short.

Thank you for posting!
