Smile. Say, "Eye Shadow!"

Tonight, I am seeing through green-colored glasses.
Because I work for a company that is largely associated with some of the nation's leading magazines, I received--as part of my holiday gift from the bosses--several free subscriptions. And let me say, had I been given the chance to choose between the magazines or a jar of liquid gold, I would have selected the magazines.

So you can imagine my delight today when--not one, not two, but--three of my magazines arrived. They all boasted covers about spring. (Magazines are, after all, a month or two ahead of schedule!) I promise you, I looked at 10 shades of green while I skimmed the pages.

Spring is on it's way, Friends!

In the meantime, enjoy today's In Print post. This morning on my way to work, I listened to a story about a new camera that adds makeup to its subjects--meaning, you won't have to "fix your face" on Christmas mornings to come! The camera will take care of that for you! It will apply lipstick, blush, and eye shadow.

Read about it here. And don't forget to put yourself in front of the camera once in awhile, moms. Every member of the family should be photographed and not always photograph-ing.

Say, "Spring!"

Trisha,
I wish I'd put myself in front of the camera more. I have so many pictures where it looks like Mom didn't attend.
Maybe part of it was because I needed makeup. Interesting camera.

Trish, great website. I always look forward to your posts. You have a great voice and good ideas. I am not new to homemaking, but I am in need of a boost. So this site is meeting that need for me. Keep writing!

Trisha,

Great post, as usual. I come back to this blog to read your stuff. You put a bright spot in my day when I see that you have posted. I especially like your bit about the mags today. Very funny.

Trisha,
This is my first visit to your blog & I love it already! :) I read this post & just had to comment on the last part about mom's needing to be seen in our family pictures!

I'm the youngest of 9 kids and my mom was a typical mom. She was either busy trying to capture pictures of us or was trying to avoid the camera because she wasn't happy with her weight, hair, makeup, etc. She passed away when I was just 14 years old. I love all the pictures I have of her but I especially cherish the few pictures I have of just the two of us!

So moms...take my advice & take pictures with your kids. They don't care if you had a bad hair day, you aren't at your "ideal" weight or you forgot to put on makeup! They just want to be able to look back at their memories and see YOU!!
